WHAT IS OXYTOCIN??

Dear friends today we will discuss one of the important brain chemicals i.e. OXYTOCIN.

It is a peptide hormone and neurotransmitter that is associated with love, empathy, trust, sexual activity, and relationship building.
It is also involved in childbirth and breastfeeding.
It is also called " love hormone" or " cuddle hormone".

Love is an emotion involving our brain by releasing oxytocin. It is a hormone released by the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland at the base of the brain. While touching, communicating, hugging, kissing with love, oxytocin is being released in the brain part called hypothalamus.
It plays a very important role in social bonding, sexual reproduction, childbirth and the period after childbirth.

This hormone is released into the bloodstream and affects the central nervous system.
It is a naturally occurring hormone that is made in the hypothalamus and is stored and released by the posterior pituitary gland in the brain.
How do you increase oxytocin release

When it is released it produces a feeling of love.
It produces more in females especially giving birth to a child and it plays an important role in milk formation as well as milk ejection.

If a person is lacking in oxytocin may feel or suffer problems like:-
Stress
Depression
Anxiety
Intestinal problems etc.

HOW CAN WE INCREASE OXYTOCIN NATURALLY:- 

We can increase this hormone by including some natural food in our daily diet.

There are some foods we can take like -

Figs,

#We should never take any medicine or drug for increasing oxytocin.
Apart from this, we can do some activity that can help in increasing oxytocin-

2. Massage-  Research has shown that the message has a direct impact on lowering stress hormones and can boost the "feel good" hormone ( oxytocin).

3. Pet a dog- Research has shown that just touching your pets lower your blood pressure and increase oxytocin level. Animals have a way of calming us because they increase our oxytocin levels.

4. Do Hugs- when we hug someone for more than 30 seconds oxytocin is released and also if we hug someone it reduces cardiovascular stress and improves the immune system too.

5. Play soothing music-Whenever we feel upset or stressed we can listen that soothes us. it depends on person to person which kind of soothing music they like to listen to.

6. Do adventure things-Adventures things give us enjoyment, excitement, and thrill too. so to increase oxytocin, we can do some kind of adventure thing.

7. Laugh more-We can increase oxytocin level by just laughing sometimes. laughing is also a very good exercise for health.

8. Using social media-When we feel upset/stressed or alone we can use social media to connect friends, relatives to get relief by increasing oxytocin level.
