It is thick grass that looks like hay or straw. It refers to freshly sprouted grass or the first leave of the wheat plant. Its color is bright green, as shown in the figure. It comes generally from Triticum aestivum family.

How to grow wheatgrass:-

Anyone can grow wheatgrass easily either indoor or outdoor. Most of the people cultivate it indoor in a tray filled with soil or sand. and few people grow without any base (empty tray).
People harvest it within 7-10 days after sprouting.

It is generally said when you cut the grass immediately drink it otherwise it will be contaminated.

Many people don't like to grow and extract the juice. So they prefer its power or tablet form. Many companies are in the market they now providing tablets, powder, and juice sachets also.

Quantity and dosage:-

Wheatgrass can be taken orally either fresh juice or in powder form. Dosages depend on several factors like - user's age, health conditions, etc. However, If someone (healthy) wants to consume fresh juice he/she needs to take 1-4 ounces(oz). If someone wants to take powder he/she needs to take 1-2 teaspoon i.e. 3-6gms.

Warning:- If someone wants to use it for any disease treatment, it is recommended to consult the doctor and use it according to their prescription for better results.
If someone is allergic to gluten or grain then it is advisable not to use wheatgrass.
pregnant and lactating women are advised not to use any form of wheatgrass.

Side effect:- Generally it doesn't have any kind of side effect but some people may feel nausea, headache, stomach upset, abdominal pain, vomit, etc.
