OCD is known for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It is a type of mental illness. Typically, this condition is seen in those who are in the juvenile age range or have reached adulthood. People experience obsessive thoughts and compulsions during such situations. OCD patients ritualistically perform certain actions as a routine or have certain thoughts that haunt them again and again.
Some of the most common activities that OCD people often do are to count things, wash their hands frequently, do more cleaning or see if the doors and windows are closed, etc.
Some patients with OCD have difficulty removing all unnecessary or chronic junk.
These activities occur to the extent that most of them endanger their normal life and their daily life is negatively affected. Although most adult OCD patients find that their strange behavior is incomprehensible, they still cannot stop.

Now let's Understand what is OCD

Obsession is without your desire. In it, out of control thoughts, pictures and excitement keep coming to mind again and again. You want these thoughts to not come to your mind, but you cannot stop them. The problem is that these thoughts are often frustrating and distracting.

Compulsions are a behavior that you feel the need to repeat over and over. Compulsions are usually done as part of an attempt to get rid of obsessions.
For example, if you are afraid of dirt, you will probably get used to cleaning again and again.
That means you do not feel any benefit from it. Inverse obsessive thinking comes back strongly. In such a situation the behavior of compulsions turns into restlessness because you start doing it again and again and spend more and more time on it.

What do you think (obsession is)?

Thought - A word, sentence or sound that sounds bad, irritates or is jealous or slanderous. You try not to think of him but you cannot do it. You worry that you do not get an infection (caused by germs, dust or HIV or cancer), or your negligence can cause harm to someone.
Photos in mind - which shows that someone in your family has died, or you are behaving in a violent manner. Sex related that does not match your personality, stabbing or abusing or cheating. We know that people who have an obsession are not aggressive, nor do they work according to the idea.
Doubt / Doubt - You were amazed for hours that you did not have an accident or caused harm to you, you can be worried that you have hit someone in your car or you have left the windows and doors of your house open. Huh.
Concern- You constantly argue with yourself whether to do this work or do that work. In this way you are not able to make even a small decision.
Perfectionism - You get more upset than other people if things are not correctly in the right proportion or in the right place. For example, if the books are not properly kept in a cupboard.

What are the causes of OCD?

Jeans- OCD is sometimes genetic, so it can sometimes be passed on from generation to generation.
Stress- In one third of people, it can happen in stressful events of life
Changes in life -  during which sudden responsibility comes like puberty, giving birth to a child or a new job.
Brain changes - We do not know for sure, but if you have OCD for a little longer then researchers think that there is an imbalance of Serotonin in the brain.
Personality- If you are a person who works very cleanly or carefully or systematically and has high moral principles, then you are more likely to have OCD. These properties are often helpful, but can be OCD when increased by 10 to 10 times.
Thinking attitude - Almost all of us sometimes get weird or annoying thoughts or pictures like "What if I come in front of the car" or "I will harm myself." "Most of us soon abandon these thoughts and live our lives, but if you are a more principled or responsible person, then you can feel that such thoughts are terrible, so you pay more attention to that thing again." So that they are more likely to do so.

                                                  Who treats OCD?

OCD is treated by a psychiatrist (psychiatrist) , a clinical psychologist (psychologist) and now a days

its being treated by a Hypnotherapist also.  Counseling and treatment can be done. No limit can be fixed for how many days it can run. Since the purpose of treatment is to bring positive changes in the behavior of the patient, in which his own efforts and the support of family members are most important. It is seen that if detected in the initial phase, then the problem gradually comes under control in six to seven months therapy. But in many cases, therapy is required for many years. Because this disease never cures 100%. It requires constant effort and cooperation to keep it under control.

                                                       Therapy is effective

The most effective therapy in the treatment of OCD is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Sometimes, therapy with depression is also given in medicines for depression, although medication alone is not effective in treating OCD. This therapy has two parts:

1. First, Exposure and Response Prevention: In this, the victim is repeatedly exposed to the source of the obsession. After this you are told to avoid the compulsive behavior that you do repeatedly. For example, if you are a compulsive handwasher, that is, you have the problem of washing your hands repeatedly, you may be asked to touch the handles of the public toilet doors and then you are prevented from washing your hands. Although after this you will sit with worry, but by doing this, your nervousness related to repeated washing will gradually reduce. In such a situation, you will understand that you do not need to wash your hands frequently to overcome your anxiety. After reaching this level, you will be able to control your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behavior.

2. Second, Cognitive Therapy: It tries to reduce the bad thoughts that come to your mind and to control the feeling of exaggerating your responsibilities. The most important role of cognitive therapy in OCD is to teach you how to give healthy and effective reactions to your obsessive thoughts without compulsive behavior.

                                                   Family support required

Since OCD often causes problems in family life and social responsibility. In such a situation, family

therapy can prove beneficial in getting rid of it. Family therapy can motivate the victim to understand the disorder and eliminate disputes between family members. It can inspire family members and teach them how to help their close relatives with OCD.
- Do not talk negatively about the victim nor criticize it. This may make his problem more serious.
- Don't make fun of him nor stop him from forcibly compulsive behavior.
- Try to maintain good family and home environment. Keep the patient busy for some other work so that he can avoid compulsive behavior.
- Try to keep the victim happy

                                                             Help yourselves

A person who is suffering from OCD can help himself/herself through following ways:-
1. To ignore the thoughts of OCD, focus your attention elsewhere. For example exercise, jogging, walking, study, listening to music, surfing the internet, playing videogames, calling someone, etc. Its purpose is to keep yourself busy for at least 15 minutes in a work that makes you happy.

2. Whenever the obsessive is thought and says the mind of compulsive behavior, you should note it in the diary. By doing this, you will know how much time you are losing in these stupid things. By writing the same thing over and over again, it will start to lose its importance in your eyes.

3. Tape your OCD obsession. Tape it to a tape recorder, laptop or smart phone. Count the obsessive thoughts, lines or stories that come to your mind. Listen to this tape daily for 45 minutes. After hearing about the same type of obsession again and again, you will understand that the reason for this is OCD and within a few days you will stop bothering these things.

4. Take care of yourself. A healthy and balanced lifestyle will be helpful in keeping you away from OCD behavior, fears and worries. For this, learn the relaxation technique. Follow meditation, yoga and deep breathing techniques.

5. Get into better eating habits. Include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, etc. in the diet. This will not only keep your blood sugar level under control, but will increase serotonin in your body, which is a neurotransmitter and calms the mind.

6. Do regular exercises. Aerobic exercise reduces stress and increases physical and mental energy. Endorphins make your brain feel happy. Exercise 30 minutes daily. 8. Stay away from alcohol and nicotine and get plenty of sleep. 9. Stay in contact with family and friends.
